What is it

This is a graphical front-end for the excelent programs 'mkisofs' and
   'cdrecord'.
It can also burn mp3 to cd audio.

   It's good for:
     * Avoiding coasters due to command-line mistakes
     * Eliminating the tedium of consulting documentation
     * Feeling more secure in a correct set of options
     * Being lazy

With the (in)frequency with which I burn CDs, I didn't like poring
over man pages for half an hour each time to make sure I got every
last option right. With this program, I don't have that problem.

Is it really that small?

Because this is done in the Tk scripting language, the whole program
   is only about 20 K.

What else do I need?

You need Tk, but that comes with most distributions. If yours doesn't
have Tk, find it at [1]http://www.scriptics.com

You will need 'mkisofs' and 'cdrecord', which may be a part of your
distribution or you may need to get them from te links below:

   [2]mkisofs
   [3]cdrecord [4](homepage)

You will probably also want [5]cdparanoia, the best program for
ripping audio from CDs. CDR-Toaster relies on cdparanoia to rip audio.

You MAY want [6]SoX - Sound eXchange and [7]mpg123 for the direct
recording of MP3 files to audio CDs, but they're quite optional.

I'm new - How do I run this?

If you have just downloaded this program, you'll have to make it
executable. You can do this as follows:

     chmod +x cdrtoaster

Then you can run cdrtoaster simply by typing its name. You will need
Tk installed, but you probably have that. To find your installation,
   type:

     which wish

If it gives you a pathname like /usr/bin/wish you're fine. If you see
"no wish in ...." then you'll have to install Tk.

If your "wish" does not live at /usr/bin/wish then alter the first
line of cdrtoaster to reflect your wish location.

How can I contribute?

CDR-Toaster is availible under the GNU General Public License version
2.0 or later (at your option). This license can be found at
   [1]http://www.gnu.org/copyleft/gpl.html

I could use some background colors and whatnot for the web page.

I want to add decent multisession support. Also on the list is better
   data track layout control.

If you see other areas where this program could be improved, tell me.
